6. Community Health Konferenz

23.11. - 24.11.2023, Bochum

Welcome

On 23 and 24 November 2023, the 6th Community Health Conference with the theme “Promoting Health, Strengthening Diversity“ took place at the Hochschule für Gesundheit, University of Applied Sciences, on the health-campus in Bochum. Our event continues to grow with each passing year. With over 300 participants this year, we’ve reached a significant milestone, demonstrating the growing interest and relevance of community health.

The conference provides a platform for interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary exchange and networking. By bringing together scientists, practitioners, and students from various disciplines to discuss results, perspectives, strategies, and methods in the field of community health, the conference contributes significantly to the advancement of community health as a discipline and research field in Germany.

This is also reflected in the keywords used by the participants to describe their perspective on community health: Networking, marginalized groups, justice, change, inclusion, participation, interdisciplinarity, unity, and support for each other.

We would like to thank all participants for their valuable contributions to the conference. Special thanks are also due to all the speakers who allowed the publication of this abstract volume. This volume provides a comprehensive overview of the diverse themes of the conference, with contributions from outpatient, inpatient and home care, young people, education and prevention, health services research, urban health and disability and inclusion.

We hope that this volume of abstracts will not only serve as a snapshot of the conference, but also as a stimulus and inspiration for future research and practice. May it contribute to further discussion and efforts to promote community health.
